Welcome to Our Heritage Guest Ranch!
Nestled in the foothills of the picturesque Pine Ridge of northwest Nebraska, Our Heritage Guest Ranch provides unique recreational experiences on our family ranch that was established in 1887. We are located next to Toadstool Park near Crawford, Neb. We are surrounded by the Oglala National Grasslands, which enhance the beauty of our open spaces and unique geological formations.
We invite you to accompany us as we carry out our daily ranch tasks, such as fixing fences, haying, lambing and calving. Or take advantage of the many activities we offer:
- Ride horses (yours or ours) or our four-wheeler.
- Do some hiking, biking, fishing and stargazing.
- Watch and photograph trains that amble through the area.
- Explore your creative side with art retreats and photography opportunities.
- Enjoy holistic health instruction and treatments.
You can mix and match multiple activities to create your own vacation experience. Contact us by email or phone to set things up.
Pioneer family journeys
For groups of 10-20 people, we share unique pioneer family journey packages taking you back in time. We’ll travel by horseback and wagon and eat like the pioneers did, enjoying social activities similar to theirs in days gone by.
The other package offered for groups of 10-20 people is our Lakota vacations. We’ll give you a week-long taste of the life of Native Americans and knowledge about their history, culture and spiritual beliefs.
We offer guided fossil hunting on the ranch. Look at our Facebook page for scheduled trips or simply come and hunt as an individual or family. We offer a package deal or day hunts with night lodging. We keep the fossil hunting integrity-filled, by not allowing any hunting to take place if we feel the land has been too picked over.
Our Heritage Guest Ranch is within easy driving distance of attractions such as Fort Robinson State Park, Chadron State Park, Fur Trade Museum, Agate Fossil Beds, Hudson/Meng Bison Bone Bed, Scotts Bluff National Monument, and Chimney Rock in Nebraska. Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills of South Dakota are also within driving distance.
We would enjoy sharing our ranch with you. Please check out our activities and see what we have to offer you for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We hope a stay with us will leave you with fond memories for years to come.
